Lighting Consultancy and the Process includes consultation, lighting design and calculations, plans & specifications, rendering services, site visits and fixture manufacturing.
Most Lighting Design projects follow a process consisting of different phases. These phases are like building design and construction phases. Our goal is to provide the quantity and quality of light appropriate to the project. The design phases include programming, schematic design, development and manufacturing.
Initial meetings, Price Proposal, Design Development/Construction Documents, and site visits.
Initial Meeting: The aim of this meeting is to gather all the information about the project, including client’s needs and preferences, the plans of the rest of the team and constraints. During this meeting, information about the budget, maintenance issues, overall design and the goals of the project would be all communicated with one of our experience lighting designers. We would talk about the spaces and areas which need illumination, type, and the application of each lighting, room finishes, building materials and style, architectural features, ceiling heights and plenum depth, sustainability, and energy efficiency.
Price proposal:To provide you a lighting design scheme or package, first we need to get the architectural drawings. Then we can provide you different lighting design solutions perfectly tailored to your project. When the initial evaluation is done, you would be provided with a quotation before we start the design development. Based on the scope of the project, fifty percent pre-payment would be required to start your lighting design process.
Design Development/Construction Documents:Design development typically starts with a close communication and coordination with other design team members to make sure the lighting design is integrated into the site. Integration with other building systems, coordination with furniture plans and consideration of lighting maintenance are some of the issues which we scrutinize during this phase. A set of documents would be prepared for the electrical contractor. These documents are sufficiently clear to proceed the project, order the lighting fixtures and finally doing the installation. A full set of AutoCAD drawings indicating the electrical lighting plan, luminaire locations, types of the lighting fixtures and mounting heights along with the Luminaire schedule would be turned over for starting the process. We can also offer you our rendering services to better visualize how your lighting would look once it’s installed.
Site visits:Meeting with the electrical contractor to know the electrician(s) and have a good communication path with them to ensure the schedule goes as good as possible, is an important part of our services. On-site review sessions would resolve any field problems that arise. Regular site visits will happily be done by our light designers to inspect improvements according to the baseline schedule.
